This work presents a series of field recordings made in several cities in Europe, Asia, and Africa in 2001 and 2003. The idea was to document certain acoustic urban settings – the fact.
The sounds were recorded with a stereo microphone and saved on a mini-disk digital recorder. This technology represents the filter that transforms the original acoustic setting into binary code – the artifact.
