On the front side of the wall separating the two spaces of the art gallery Essays & Observations in Berlin, insulating tape was fixed with nails in order to create a wall-drawing. The drawing was a 1:1 representation of the architectural space situated behind that wall.

The wall was used as a two-dimensional plan of the very space that it was hiding from the spectator’s view. The nails fixing the insulating tape to the wall were later removed, thus letting the material coil up in accordance with its natural properties.
