Language of Things

In “Language of Things” (performance and installation) the phrase “become environment” (“stan siÄ™ Å›rodowiskiem“) is written by the artist and a co-performer (Lukasz Jakubowski) on a wall of MOS exhibition space by scraping its surface with a junk object from the streets of Gorzów. During the performance,
both the wall and the junk object were connected to contact microphones that picked up the sounds produced by the friction.
Visitors were then able to listen to the recording of this process and these sounds in the installation.

“Language of Things” was part of ANIMA MUNDI #3 – exploring environmental relationships through Sound Art and cultural exchange.

A group exhibition at Miejski Ośrodek Sztuki, Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland.
Curated and organised by Janine Eisenächer (Errant Sound), Bartosz Nowak (Miejski Ośrodek Sztuki) and Natalie Krekhno.
